UAE clean energy company Masdar raised $1 billion through a green bond issued in two $500 million tranches, with 5- and 10-year maturities carrying coupons of 4.875% and 5.375% respectively. Investor orders peaked at $6.6 billion, a 6.6-times oversubscription, pricing at Masdar’s tightest spreads to date.
About 85% of the bond was allocated to international investors and 15% to MENA investors. The issuance takes Masdar’s green bond programme to $2.75 billion since 2023, with proceeds directed to new greenfield renewable projects under a Green Finance Framework revised in March 2025 to add green hydrogen and standalone battery storage.
