Eni and Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), through their joint venture Mellitah Oil & Gas, have completed the Bouri Gas Utilisation Project (GUP) with start-up procedures now underway to recover associated gas from the offshore Bouri field in western Libya. The project includes a new Gas Recovery Module (GRM) and infrastructure to capture and process gas previously flared during oil production, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Once operational, the facility will recover approximately 700 million standard cubic metres of gas per year for the domestic market and provide additional gas volumes for export to Europe through the GreenStream pipeline.
